ARES Printing & Packaging’s commitment to the environment goes beyond the manufacture of recyclable packaging. It includes the development of packaging and operational processes that promote a more sustainable business proposition.
ARES Printing & Packaging is and has always been a pioneer in the GREEN movement. ARES has always placed an emphasis on water based coatings and finishes. It has been over 15 years since we eliminated alcohol and solvents from our plant and began using the then new soy based inks. For over 30 years, ARES has advocated using recyclable materials and experimented with a variety of options. Our E-flute projects contain between 66% to 100% recyclable raw materials and are 100% recyclable.
As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, ARES in conjunction with our paper mills and suppliers has developed AREScycle™ – a family of FSC certified materials designed to manufacture sustainable packaging and go beyond being environmentally conscious, making the commitment by manufacturing our own high quality recycled raw materials in addition to using those available from other manufacturers.
At ARES, sustainability involves both process and product. Some of our process initiatives include implementation of a testing system that ensures higher air quality standards and eliminates plant emissions. We have instituted waste reduction programs to reduce if not eliminate landfill disposal, along with plant energy conservation efforts, and materials down gauging to reduce the amount of post consumer disposal when effective and beneficial.
ARES’ strategy is also implemented in the structural design and development of all projects. ARES is committed to using recycled materials to manufacture items that are recyclable (sustainable and compostable). As part of our commitment, we are placing a major effort to design and develop items that reduce excess in materials and decrease plastic packaging, vacuum form platforms, injection molding, and inserts.
